I just read this post and I’m reposting it here because it needs to be done. How often do you hear someone admit that they don’t know WTF they’re doing half the time, but at least they’re doing something?

I’ve been butchering my book lately, deleting page after page of what is good writing, but irrelevant to the story. Each time I delete something, I feel a bit weepy. I know, it’s part of the process, but I only have myself to rely on and talk to about this particular process, and it’s pretty hard to feel confident about the work when you’re sitting alone in the glow of a computer screen.

But hey, everyone is unsure, so that makes me feel better.
