Between the years of 1916 and about 1935, the art world was uprooted by new ideas. The fundamental definition of what an artist is shifted and in response to the devastation that occurred after the first World War, artists opened their minds to new artistic techniques and methods. In this interactive course, you will learn more about the Dada Movement, the Suprematism and Constructivism Movements, the Art Deco and de Stijl Movements and the Surrealism Movement. You will learn how to tell art from these movements apart, what inspired a particular movement to begin and facts about influential artists involved in the movements. You will also learn about lasting effects these artistic endeavors had on society as a whole.
